Michael D. Meneley (Mike) ascended to our Lord June 1, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 20, 1954 to father, Davis D. Meneley and mother, Ruth E. Gray.
Michael graduated from Ray High School in 1972. He then pursued a career in the freight line industry for 54 years. Michael concluded his career with Old Dominion Freight Line as the local terminal manager where he was loved by employees and customers alike. His favorite pastimes were spending quality time with his family as well as hunting, fishing, wildlife photography, watching Seinfeld and Fox News.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Davis and Ruth Meneley and sister, Gayle Harrison.
Michael is survived by the love of his life, Katherine (Thielhorn) Meneley, his wife of 48 years, his 3 children, Charity (Mario) Sosa of San Antonio, Texas, Clifton Meneley of Wichita Falls, Texas, Steele (Erika) Meneley also of San Antonio, Texas, 5 grandchildren, Mason, Faith, Caleb, Logan, and Aubrey. He is also survived by his sister, Sonjia Peterson of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Michael will be remembered for his diligent work ethic, delicious shrimp cocktail, tuna salad, flavorful steaks and endless Seinfeld references. His children will always remember him for his devotion to work and yet still making time for each by helping them improve in their athletic endeavors. He was and will always be their HERO. Michael's memory will live in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Journey Church, 12150 IH37, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at Glenwood Cemetery, Beeville, Texas. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Michael's life.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St Jude Children's Hospital.
