Michael "Mike" James Assef, age 70, passed away on November 4, 2024, He was born on April 2, 1954, in Worcester, MA, to the late Ade T. and Marion G. Assef.

Mike was a cherished member of his community, known for his sociable nature. He found joy in simple pleasures such as riding around town, spending time by the pool, and engaging in friendly games of pool. A dedicated sports enthusiast, he passionately supported the Dallas Cowboys and the Carolina Gamecocks, as well as enjoying Westerns and football games.

For over 50 years, Mike made his mark as a locksmith, owning and operating Goodyear Lock and Key and Goodyear Shoe Shop, where he served his customers with commitment and skill.

Along with his parents, listed above, Mike was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy Assef.

Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Michelle Leigh Griggs (Kevin) of Wallace, SC, and Stephanie Dawn Hollis of Wallace, SC; a niece whom he raised as a daughter, Kimberley McKenzie of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Sierra Quick Broach, John Christopher Quick, Hannah Nicole Griggs, Kevin Griggs, Jr., and Mason Bryant Hardwick; nieces and nephews, Faith Hatcher, Noah Hatcher, Jacob Hatcher, and Gabrielle McKenzie.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Assef family in their time of grief.
