Graham–Michael “Mike” Dennis Laster, 68, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at his home. He was born on August 23, 1955 in Alamance County to the late Richard Basil Laster, Sr. and Gertrude Mae Perry Laster. Mike was married for over 36 years to the love of his life, Ann Jordan Laster, who survives.
Mike was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and later retired from AO Smith as a machinist. He enjoyed fishing gardening and trips to the beach. Most importantly though, Mike loved spending time with his family. Whether it was sitting around a table enjoying a meal or just sitting catching up.
Survivors other than his wife; Ann Jordan Laster, include his siblings; Jo Johnson, Pat Cassidy and husband Jimmy, Joyce Brady and husband, David, Debbie Laster and Richard Basil Laster, Jr. and wife, Sharon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved fur babies; Loki, Jasper and Ezekiel Mike was preceded in death by his parents; Richard Basil Laster, Sr. and Gertrude Perry Laster as well as a niece; Teri Kerby.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Scott Ingram with the burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:45 PM Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home. You may send condolences and watch the service at www.lowefuneralhome.com.
