Michael 'Mike" Roy Osler

Michael R Osler, 74 of Kalispell, Mt passed away at his home on Friday, January 10, 2025, with his family and trusted hunting dogs by his side. Mike will be remembered for his love of family, positive outlook, sage advice and most of all his sense of humor.

Mike was born January 25,1950, to Rose and Ervin Osler. He was raised in Fortine MT where he roamed the hills and developed a love for the outdoors which he passed down to his children and grandchildren. He graduated from Lincoln County High School, Eureka Mt in 1968. After several years of working to support his family, he went back to school at the University of Montana, graduating with a degree in business.

 In 1970 Mike married his best friend, Mary Trevino. For 55 years Mike and Mary were life partners spending their days laughing, loving and making a home. They welcomed a daughter Marria in 1970 and a second daughter Tracy in 1971. In 1977 Michael was born followed by Nicholas 2 years later. Mike’s greatest joy was spending the day surrounded by his family and all 13 of his grandchildren. If you could throw a fishing trip in the mix, it would be the perfect day.

Mike is survived by his wife Mary A. Osler. His Children Marria Osler-Hegel (Tim) in Missoula, Tracy Osler (Chad) in Kalispell. Michael L. Osler (Misty) in Kalispell, Nicholas (Sarah) Osler in Kalispell. Grandchildren Andrew Osler, Jordan Hegel, Jake Hegel, Cameron Hegel, Brooke Osler, Kord Collier, Nathan Osler, Austin Osler, Mady Osler, Charlotte Osler, Remi Osler, Bentley Osler, and Sage Osler. Siblings Loren Osler, Dennis Osler and Virginia Pine as well as many treasured nephews and nieces.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Rose and Ervin Osler.

Of all the life lessons Mike bestowed, one rises to the top, “Hold on to your bippies, it is going to get rough”. Mike would declare while crammed along with his family in a single cab pickup cruising down a rutted dirt road. He was right, life can get rough. It is not always smooth roads and easy riding. When the road gets bumpy, hang on, persevere and remember it will eventually smooth out. 

 Mike’s family will miss him greatly, but his legacy will live on through the life and love of his grandchildren.

A celebration of life is planned in July.
