Michael Lee Miner, 75, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, July 29th, at Aultman Hospital. Born in Philippi, West Virginia on May 24, 1950, a son of the late Hoyt and Levonia (Croston) Miner. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Linda (Perine) Miner, granddaughter Tiara Burch, 2 sisters Laura Miner and Ruthanne Jackson, 4 brothers Edward, Troy, Larry, and Peter Sr. Miner. Michael was an avid lover of hunting, fishing, riding back roads, and old music. Michael spent countless sunrises in the quiet woods hunting, and many dusky evenings casting a line by the lake. He loved exploring the back-roads, if you rode with him, you would be sure to hear old music playing, such as Elvis or Hank Williams. Old country music wasn't just his favorite- it was how he connected to his roots and the values he held dear. Out of everything, he loved his great-grandchildren most of all. Survived by 3 daughters Yolanda Miner, Hollie Miner, Virginia Miner; son Michael (Misty Parsons) Miner Jr.; sister Paulette Taylor; brother Marion Miner Sr.; 9 grandchildren, Natalie (Zac) Frost, Alivia Miner, Royce Miner, Tyrese Burch, Kayla Wayt, Lynda (Jay Graziani) Wayt, Michael Anthony (Kathleen) Miner, Jersey Ellis, Jackson Ellis; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as other loving family members and friends. A Funeral Service will be held in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home on Monday, August 4th at 1pm with Pastor Anthony of Canton Freewill Baptist officiating. Family and friends may call one hour prior. A burial will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Louisville.
