Michael A. Mion

Michael A. Mion 58, passed away at home August 10, 2023, after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his mother Barbara Mion, brother-in-law Robert Schaffer, and niece Erin Phelps. Michael is survived by his loving wife Angela, father Robert Sr, sister Regina Schaffer (Craig), sister Carol Mion, sister Annette Phelps (Dale), and brother Robert Jr (Angie), and many nieces and nephews whom he adored, and special Aunt Judy Gazdik.
Mike graduated from Chenango Valley High School, class of 1982. He then went on to serve in the US Navy. Mike then started his apprenticeship with Local 112 Plumbers and Pipefitters which would take him to a 33 year career. This past election he was voted in for President and Trustee.
Mike had a passion for hunting and fishing and was a member of the C&H Club, which was his second home.
You could always find him with a Budweiser in his hand and a good story to tell. To know him was to love him.
A Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday August 17, 2023, 10am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Binghamton. The family will receive friends at THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC. on Wednesday from 4-6pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Michael's memory to Lourdes Hospice.
