Robert M. "Mike" McGarry, 65, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Robert Packer Hospital.

He was born on November 15, 1959, in Binghamton, NY, the son of the late Robert J. and Louise (Evans) McGarry.

Mike was a 1977 graduate of Chenango Valley High School. He lived life to its fullest, making the most out of every day. He loved 1970's music and golfing. He also enjoyed fishing and his time spent at Crystal Lake. Mike had a green thumb, especially his tomatoes, that he willingly shared with family and friends.

He is predeceased by his wife; Karen McGarry and his sister; Trish DeCastro.

Mike is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-laws; Maryellen and Bob Holst, and Ann and Chuck Bruet, sister; Maureen McGarry-Pederson, several nieces, nephews, his many cousins, and his roommate, Dawn. Mike was lucky enough to also have a lot of very good friends in his life-too numerous to name them all. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Following Mike's wishes, there will be no services. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.

Memorial donations may be made in Robert's name to: Catherines Cupboard Food Pantry, C/O St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1049 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901.
