Mike Mitchell was one of the kindest - and smartest- men I had the pleasure of knowing. I was fortunate to work with him at Fayetteville PD from 1977 until he retired. I considered Mike to be my mentor who taught me about Police work and how to deal with the public in a respectful way. Mike was truly a "cops, cop" and was always eager to lend a helping hand. He loved his wife, Naomi, and son, Mike, Jr. unconditionally. Mike was not only a great guy but also a credit to the human race. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Well done, my good and faithful servant. I will love you forever!
