Michael Mitchell Obituary
He was a detective for Fayetteville Police Department from 1975-1989, a director of evidence technicians for Springdale Police Department from 1990-2000 as well as Washington County Sheriff's Department from 2001-2007.
He was a Great husband, father, and grandfather as well as a devoted member of Eastside Batist Church in Fayetteville,
He was preceded in death by his wife Naomi Mitchell, his brother, Rev. Gene Mitchell, and sister, Ruth Geraldine Ford.
He is survived by his son Michael Joe Mitchell, Jr and his wife Tammy of Winslow, one brother, Jimmy Ray Mitchell of Farmington, AR, two grandson Travis Mitchell and wife Kristin and Trevor Mitchell and wife Natalie, one great granddaughter, Noemi Mitchell, and three step great grandchildren, Addi, Rylie and Glenn.
A visitation will be held on Monday December 22nd from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville with a service beginning at 10:00 AM with Dr. Tom Hover officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Willard Walker Hospice.

Mike Mitchell was one of the kindest - and smartest- men I had the pleasure of knowing. I was fortunate to work with him at Fayetteville PD from 1977 until he retired. I considered Mike to be my mentor who taught me about Police work and how to deal with the public in a respectful way. Mike was truly a "cops, cop" and was always eager to lend a helping hand. He loved his wife, Naomi, and son, Mike, Jr. unconditionally. Mike was not only a great guy but also a credit to the human race. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Well done, my good and faithful servant. I will love you forever!
