LACONIA ---- Michael Jerome Moody, 73, of
Laconia, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, New Hampshire.
Born on May 10, 1952, in Laconia, Michael was the son of Floyd Moody and Evelyn (Rolfe) Moody. A lifelong resident of the area, Michael was known for his big heart, quick wit, and gentle spirit.
Michael had a deep love for music and a natural gift with words. Whether writing poetry, playing rhythm spoons, or whistling a cheerful tune, he brought light and laughter wherever he went. He was also a master of balloon animals, delighting children with his creations and playful humor. A true jokester at heart, Michael could always find a way to make people smile.
He especially cherished quiet, meaningful moments - whether he was solving crossword puzzles, watching birds, or rocking babies to sleep. His calming presence and warm nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Michael's life was rooted in his strong faith in Jesus Christ. He was an active member of United Baptist Church in Lakeport, where he found fellowship, purpose, and a loving church family. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life and brought him peace in his final days.
Michael worked at The Margate Resort in Laconia for over 30 years, where he was a loyal and dedicated employee. He took great pride in his work and formed lasting friendships with coworkers and guests alike.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, who brought him endless joy.
He is survived by his siblings Tina Jurta, Janelle Labarre and her husband Richard, Nolan Moody and his wife Lisa Brouillette-Moody, Emily Moody and her husband Jim Faville, Jennifer Paradise; step-sister Bonnie Sewell; aunts Theresa Rolfe and Charlotte Moody; uncle Kermit Merrill; also, other dear family members by choice Rick Persons and Christopher Rasmussen who have loved and helped Michael so much along the way; and nieces and nephews Melissa Genakos and her children Vanessa and Karson Genakos, Jake Jurta and Amanda Wright and their children Lilly Wright, Dylan and Joey Jurta; Evan Labarre, Brendan Labarre with Annette Johnson, and Allison Labarre; Daniel Moody, Mary Moody, Emeree Dawe-Moody and Jack Dawe-Moody; Cameron McGonagle, Ellouise McGonagle, Mason McGonagle and many beloved family members and friends.
