Michael Mooneyhan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery - Nashville on Aug. 17, 2024.
Michael Ray Mooneyhan, 64, of Gallatin, TN passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2024. He was born March 15, 1960, in Springfield, Tn to Sam and Elsie Mooneyhan.
He is predeceased by his parents, Sam and Elsie Mooneyhan.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are loving spouse of 14 years, Teressa Mooneyhan, children, Tiffany (Brad) Miller, Ben (Ashley) Lewis, Chris Mooneyhan, Fate Melton, Logan Melton, 5 grandchildren, brothers Randall (Peggy) Mooneyhan, Robert (Barbara) Mooneyhan, niece and nephews, and a host of friends.
Mike was a huge personality with a heart of gold. He delighted in sharing his love of Jesus and friendship through fellowship and barbeque. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but especially his family....around dinner time.
Mike was a hard worker and spent many long nights and days on the road, but his true passion was music. He followed his passion to Tennessee Tech where he majored as a music educator. He was a member of the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corp playing trombone and baritone. After college, he worked teaching and band directing in East Tennessee. He also played trombone with the Crossville and Nashville Symphonies for a short time.
If his free time was not occupied by his love of music and family, he was avidly following space missions and the American race to space. He had an extensive knowledge about the Apollo space missions that was sparked at an early age watching the moon landings.
His greatest love was studying the word of God. He was an avid reader and often found comfort in his relationship with his Lord and Savior. He developed deep and meaningful relationships discussing scripture with church family and friends.
The family will receive guests for visitation on Monday, August 19th, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM, and on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024 from 12:00-8:00 PM at Revolution Church in White House. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Revolution Church, 3644 US-31W, White House, TN 37188. All are welcome.
