MORTON – Michael A. Moore, 78, of Morton, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Accolade Healthcare of Peoria.

He was born on May 27, 1947, in Hannibal, Missouri, to Cecil and Verle (Luke) Moore. Michael married Linda Ritterbusch-Redeker on May 30, 1998, in Morton.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Moore of Morton; son, Todd (Jeni) Moore of Peoria, Illinois; daughter, Tonya (Nick) Jibben of Holly Springs, North Carolina; stepson, Mattew Redeker of Washington, Illinois; stepdaughters, Christina (Dave) Calvert of Phoenix, Arizona and Carissa (Evan) Roller of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Saige, Anika, Blaez and Sienna Jibben, Libby (Noah) Bennington and Mallory (Corey) Curtis; step-grandchildren, Morgan and Savanna Redeker and Eli Roller; great-grandchildren, Weslie Curtis and Callen Curtis; and sisters, Penny (Mervin) Wehnes of Wesley Chapel, Florida and Marjorie (Duane) Ary of Morton.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Gayle Moore.

Michael was a United States veteran having served with the Army Reserves.

He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for many years, retiring in 1996. During his retirement, Michael drove for Peoria Charter and Metamora School District. He was known for knowing all of his Metamora kids' names.

Michael was a people person who loved everyone he met. He was everyone's care taker and handyman. Michael put others' needs before his own. He was able to fix anything from plumbing to electrical.

Michael was a life-long St. Louis Cardinal fan.

One of Michael's greatest joys in life was his grandchildren. He always had treats for them.

He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton, where a celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2025, with Pastor Jeff Anderson and Pastor Greg Moyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, prior to the service at the church. A private burial will be held at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.

Memorials may be made to Accolade Healthcare of Peoria for memory care activities.

Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
