Michael Lee Moore

Michael Lee Moore, 74, of Moody passed away on February 13, 2026. Mike to many and Popo to most was born in Belton Texas to James "Shorty" and Lodene Moore. Mike was a lifelong Texan with a sharp-mind, evidenced by his early graduation from Temple high school. A man of quiet skills and steady hands, Mike spent his life building-whether it was homes where families grew or custom furniture he meticulously crafted in his woodshop. While Mike made his living in home building, his true passion was found in the smell of sawdust and fine grain of wood in his shop. He didn't just make furniture he made heirlooms.

Mike's legacy lives on in the structures he built and the family he loved. He is survived by his mother, Lodene Moore of Belton; his son, Matthew and wife Courtney of Moody; his daughter, Mi Chelle Moore Bruscia of Belton; grandchildren, Arcionna Truelove of Moody, Gavin Bunte of Belton, Memphis Moore, Kooperlynn Moore, and Ryker Moore of Moody; sisters, Linda Creek of Belton, Carol Moore of Troy; brother James Moore of Belton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is now reunited with his son, James "Scooter" Moore; father, James "Shorty" Moore; sister, Theresa Moore; and brother David Moore.

Mike will be remembered as a man who wasn't afraid to pick up a new tool or start a new project and he firmly believed that if you're going to build something you build it to last.
