Michael Patrick Moran, age 77, a resident of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away on December 18th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born and raised in South Philadelphia, graduating from Bishop Neumann High School. Mike continued his pursuit of education earning his bachelor's degree from St. Joe's University, his MBA from Drexel University, and his JD at the Widener University Delaware Law School. Mike and his beloved wife, Terry, would eventually settle in Drexel Hill, PA, where they would remain for 40 years raising their family and making memories together.
Mike's long career in the insurance industry ended when he retired as the Vice President of Reliance Insurance's Tax Department after 40 years of service. Mike was proud of his accomplishments, but the most important thing in life to him was his family and friends. For many years he spent time with his children: playing sports, having deep conversations, doing trivia, and coaching their youth sports, whether it was soccer, baseball, or softball. He graduated from father to grandfather. In retirement he took advantage of his free time to assume the role of babysitter to his first born grandchild Harrison, a role he cherished dearly.
Throughout his life Mike was well respected and always a gentleman. He had a gift for connecting with everyone he met. To know Mike was to love him. He had a lifelong group of friends who he knew for 70 years from the corner of Bonsall and Snyder (B&S) in South Philly. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family, including summers in Wildwood, a recent vacation in the Outer Banks, and many holiday gatherings.
When Mike was not working or spending time with his family and friends, he loved to travel with Terry. In addition to their international travel to Europe and Asia, many summers were spent at the beach. Throughout his life, he loved playing tennis and basketball. He loved bringing people together over food, good conversations, and of course, trivia!
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Helen Moran. Additionally, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law Joe Kopaczewski and Bobby Null.
Survivors: His beloved wife of 53 years, Terry Moran. Their two children: Meghan Moran (Kevin Welding) and Kevin Moran (Nicole). His siblings: Kathy Kopaczewski (Joe), Patty Null (Bobby), Hank Moran (Janet), and Jackie Moran (Chris). His grandchildren: Harrison Moran, and Molly and Cate Welding.
