Michael Gus Mores

Michael Gus Mores 1942- 2024 Michael (Mike) Gus Mores died at home on July 12th, 2024. He was the younger of two sons born to Gus and Koula (Economou) Mores, both natives of Greece. Mike was born on September 23rd 1942 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Mike was a graduate of Cheyenne Senior High School. He attended the University of Wyoming where he obtained the Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1965. Michael worked as a surveyor, did construction work and held a variety of jobs in California, Arizona, Colorado and Wyoming. He enjoyed cooking, fishing and visiting with family and friends.

During his free time Michael designed and built his own house in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was very proud of his accomplishment.

On August 28th 1988, Michael was married to Maria (Ortiz) (Cubilette) Mores in Greeley, CO and became a loving step-father to her son, Danny. Mike and Maria lived in Greeley until 1999 when they moved to Cheyenne to be closer to Michael's mother, Koula, who was declining in health.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dan Mores.

A kind and gentle soul, Mike leaves behind his wife, Maria, who will miss him dearly, his stepson Danny (Mary), his grandson Anthony (Christina) and his great grandson Aaron. Mike will be missed by his extended family and friends.

A Viewing/Trisagion will be held Wednesday July 17 at 6PM at Schrader Funeral Home, with Service at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church Thursday July 18 at 10AM.
