Michael G. Morgan, a beloved FDNY firefighter, proud veteran and family man, has passed away on November 20, 2023, in Dix Hills, NY. He was born on September 27, 1929, in the Bronx, NY to his beloved parents, Michael and Marie Morgan.
With an unwavering dedication to his work, Michael served as a fireman and Fire Marshall for the FDNY for many years. He put his life on the line to protect and save others during times of crisis. His selflessness and bravery are commendable qualities that will forever be remembered by his colleagues and the community he served.
He was a loving husband to Eileen and a devoted father to his children. Michael's family was always his top priority, and he relished in spending quality time with them. Together they shared countless memorable moments filled with laughter and love. Michael will be deeply missed by his children Patti (Augie) Paratore, Eileen (Michael) Katz, Joe (Carol) Morgan, Mary (Bob) Dore, Theresa (Bill) Victoria, Jim Morgan, and Kevin (Stacey) Morgan. He is predeceased by his son, the late Michael (Linda) Morgan. Michael doted upon his 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. His presence in their lives brought joy and happiness that will forever be cherished.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home located at 1701 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729 on November 26, 2023. The visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A mass celebrating Michael's life will take place at St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church located at 35 N Service Rd, Dix Hills, NY 11746 on November 27, 2023. The mass will begin at 10:45 AM. A burial at Calverton National Cemetery will take place immediately following the service.
Michael G. Morgan has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His dedication to his work as a fireman, his unconditional love for his family, and his unwavering commitment to helping others will always be remembered. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that we should strive to emulate in our own lives. Though we mourn the loss of an incredible individual, let us also celebrate his life and take solace in the knowledge that he is now resting peacefully. May his soul find eternal serenity as we hold dear the memories he has gifted us.
