Michael Moschetta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial on Nov. 14, 2022.
Michael J. Moschetta passed peacefully on November 8, 2022 with his family at his side, after heroically fighting to recover from multiple protracted, challenging, and difficult illnesses.
Michael was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and moved to Westchester County where he lived for many years. He attended Fordham Prep and was a graduate of Fordham University and New York Law School. He spent the majority of his legal career as a Law Clerk in the New York County Civil Court until his retirement.
Michael is survived by his beloved mother, Pietrina, who currently resides in New Providence NJ; brother Anthony and sister-in-law RoseMarie of Summit NJ; nephew Robert Moschetta, his wife Ashley, and two grandnephews, Harrison and Maddox who reside in Maine. He was pre-deceased by his father, Angelo.
Michael was the most devoted son and loved his family and friends. He always had a very special place in his heart for his dear and long-time friend, Zoë. He was perhaps the world's most devoted fan of the 1970's rock band "Yes" but also enjoyed many other musical genres including jazz, opera, and classical music. Michael always looked forward to a good steak dinner especially when he had an opportunity to dine at any number of classic NY Steakhouses. Michael was also a fan of old Woody Allen movies and football and spent many hours reading. Michael was especially proud of making the Fordham Prep football team where he wore number "50" on his jersey. Go Rams! Throughout his life he continued to support the Fordham University Athletic Association as well as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 10:30 am, Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 111 South Street, New Providence, NJ. There will be a viewing at Our Lady of Peace Church at 10:00 am, immediately prior to Mass. Interment private. Donations in Michael's memory can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
