Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Nunziato and Blanche Murano.
Michael worked as a training coordinator for Dell Computers in Massachusetts for many years. He was veteran of the US Navy.
In addition to his life partner Michael, he leaves behind his brother Gary Murano of Westerly and several nieces and nephews.
