Michael (Mike, Murph) Richard Murphy, 82, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Michael was born on April 14, 1943 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Albert Clarence Murphy and Evelyn Jane Murphy (Connell).

He attended Regis High School and graduated in 1961. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. After serving in the military, he went to the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1970.

He proudly served the Chippewa Valley and Eau Claire communities for over 40 years in the insurance and travel business industries. Mike loved to travel, golf, downhill ski (in his younger years), and attend University of Wisconsin Badger football games with his family and watch the University of Wisconsin Marching Band but most of all he cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelley Murphy; his grandchildren Maria and Angel; his parents, Albert and Evelyn Murphy; and his sisters Margaret Murphy and Catherine Litchfield (Murphy).

He is survived by his daughter, Darby Murphy; son-in-law, Heriberto Verdugo; his grandchildren, Beto, Evelyn, Ian, Tony, and Surem; his former wife, Susannah Ausley; his sisters Jane Murphy, Colleen Murphy and Bridget Rottman (Murphy); his brother Patrick Murphy, and many nieces and nephews. Mike will be remembered for his unwavering support for his family in both happy and challenging times, affectionately referring to himself as "a stubborn old Irishman," his love of animals, a witty sense of humor and above all else, his unconditional love for his family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
