Michael K. Neal, 84, of Ina passed away Friday morning March 6, 2026 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

He was born in Moore's Prairie Township on January 31, 1942 the son of Curtis Ray & LaFue (Varietta) "Slim" (Cockrum) Neal.

He married Shirley (Davis) on August 26, 1961 and she preceded him in death on May 31, 2012.

Mr. Neal served in the U.S. Armed Forces from 1961-1963 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

He was a lifelong farmer in Jefferson County. He started his carpentry at East Side Lumber, and then went to work for Gene Orrick, and then retired from Floyd Black Construction. He was proud of his work. He was a member of the Jefferson County Antique Tractor Club, and he loved to go to tractor pulls and tractor shows. After retirement he enjoyed spending time and taking trips with his special friend Wanda Avery.

Granddaughter: Katelin Glover & husband Kameron of Opdyke

Great-Grandson: Joshua (who Mike loved spending time with)

Granddaughter: Christy Hammonds & husband Tim

He is survived by several Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren that live out of state.

Sister: Carleen Richards & husband Gene of Mt. Vernon

He is also survived by several Nieces & Nephews.

Mr. Neal was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Daughter-Marilyn Kay, Son-Larry Bliffen, Brother-Lowell Neal and Brother-in-law-Jerry Pierce.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 9th at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina. A Private burial will be in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Woodlawn.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Oddfellows Cemetery in Woodlawn.

The family would like to give a special Thank You to Maci Endicott and Tracy Denham who were Mike's caregivers, and to special friend Red Friar. Along with The Sunshine Center, The Medicine Shoppe, SSM Good Samaritan Hospital and SSM Hospice.
