Nicks, Michael Wayne, 76 of King, NC passed away peacefully at his home on July 8, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born on December 19th, 1948 in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Dr. Rev. BB Nicks and Florine Harris Nicks. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a 1968 graduate of Starmount High School. He was a great multi-sport athlete and avid golfer, achieving seven hole-in-ones over his lifetime. He was a drywall mechanic by trade, always sought after for the quality of his work. He was a devout Christian and a member of Redeeming Grace Baptist Church in Siloam, NC.
Mike is survived by his wife of 52 years Judy McDaniel Nicks, his daughter Jennifer Herman and husband Eddie and grandson Micah Wood of the home. His sister Cindy Wall of Siloam, NC and his brothers Larry Nicks and wife Janis of Chesapeake, VA and John Nicks and wife Kim of Coppell, Tx. He is preceded in death by his brothers Rev. Ben Nicks
And Rev. Paul Nicks. The celebration of life will be held at 11 am on Saturday July 12, 2025 at Redeeming Grace Baptist Church, 5549 Siloam Rd, Siloam, NC 27047.
The family will receive friends at their home 206 Stonehedge Dr, King, NC 27021. Donations may be made to Parkinson's Foundation (parkinson.org) in hope for a cure.
The Nicks family would like to give a special thanks to the Mountain Valley Hospice Staff for your loving and diligent care. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Nicks family.
