Mike served his country in the United States Marines. He had a lot of combat action in Vietnam. He was a member of Effingham VFW Post 1769, past Commandant of Effingham Marine Corps League, past president of Local 39B and a journeyman bookbinder there, and past officer and member of Good Neighbors of Lake Sara.
Mike loved to fish, boat and travel across the United States. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. He liked action movies, country music, comedy, and date nights with his wife. He was always down for trying a new restaurant. He was a Diet Coke addict. He really loved living at Lake Sara and admiring the views from his recliner surrounded by his family. He would do anything for his girls and loved it when they had the chance to escape from work to travel with him and Suzi.
Mike is survived by his wife, Suzi Niebrugge of Effingham; daughters, Michelle Stoneburner of Effingham, and Tisha (Philip) McCafferty of Olney; and step-grandchild, Zoey McCafferty.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, John Niebrugge at birth and Terrance Lee "Terry" Niebrugge.
