Michael Norris Obituary

Published by Desert View Mortuary, Crematory and Memorial Park on Mar. 9, 2012.
Michael W Norris, 52, passed away March 9th, 2012, in San Bernardino, California. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Michael was born on February 23rd, 1960, in Downey, California to Donald and Mary Norris. Michael attended Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe Springs, California where he met and married Sharon Thomas. They married very young, but their love stayed strong for 32 wonderful years. They have two sons, Michael W Norris II and David E Norris, who Michael was very proud of. Michael followed his father's footsteps after High School and became an Operating Engineer. Michael worked under his father's watchful eye for close to 10 years before going off on his own for an additional 18 years. Like his father, he brought both of his sons into the trade and they too had the privilege of working with their father. Michael loved off road racing… It all began with a borrowed baja bug from his father Donald, which was meant to be used for his wife Sharon to drive to school. After over a month of not seeing the baja, his father started to wonder what became of the car. His father came over one evening and saw that Michael had chopped the baja up and had made his first race car. A new love was born that has been shared by all of the Norris family. Michael also loved river trips and spending lots of time with his family and friends. He was very loyal, loving and fun to be around. He was always willing to go the extra mile for anyone. Mr. Norris is survived by his father Donald Norris; spouse, Sharon Norris; 2 sons and their spouses, Michael and Sarah Norris II, David and Katie Norris; and 2 grandchildren, Ryleigh Norris and Marissa Norris. Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Norris; brother, Johnny Norris; and sister, Sandra Gifford.
