Michael Eugene "Spike" O'Donnell, age 72, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on August 23.
Mike was born on July 22, 1952, to Charles and Bernedette (Samens) O'Donnell. He attended school at the Eagleton School and graduated in 1971 from Chi Hi.
He was a lifelong farmer who took pride in his cows. Mike liked to attend cow auctions and occasionally come home with a beauty or two. Farming was in his blood and the only color he knew was John Deere green. Many times you could catch him taking a catnap in the tractor during planting and harvesting season. He farmed until he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and could no longer tend to the farm.
Mike enjoyed spending time at the lake, enjoying great food and quality time with family and friends. He was also one of the original members of the Eagle Point Fire Department.
Mike is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beth; sons, Brad (Amanda) O'Donnell of Chippewa Falls, and Lee O'Donnell of Eagle Point; daughters, Amy (Brian) Rozwadowski of Stanley, WI, and Colette (David) Staples of Bethpage, TN; grandchildren, Ben Rozwadowski, and Devlin, Aurora, & Pacey Staples; siblings, Patrick (Susan) O'Donnell, Nancy (Albert) Goettl, Chris (Michael) Fisher; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bill (LaVonne) Goettl, Barb (Don) Hartman, Bev (Bill) Herrings, and Bonnie (Jim) Maier.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Clifford and Josephine Goettl; two grandsons, Cody Rozwadowski and Isaac Staples; and a brother, Tim O'Donnell.
The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Meadowbrook of Bloomer for the wonderful care, laughs, and love shown. Also to St. Croix Hospice for your kindness and wonderful care. Bless you all from the bottom of our hearts.
