Michael was born in North Kansas City on May 4th, 1962, to Donald and Mary O'Reilly. He was the first born of their five children and was an excellent role model to his brother and sisters.

Throughout his life, Michael engaged in many different interests. A loyal fan of the Royals since childhood, he never gave up rooting for his favorite team. He enjoyed bowling for many years, along with NASCAR, Space explorations and the space program. He had a passion for football and took part in Fantasy Football Leagues for over 30 years.
Michael is proceeded in death by his father, Donald O'Reilly. Survivors include, his mother Mary O'Reilly, brother, Tim O'Reilly, sisters, Erin Bair, Shannon O'Reilly, Becket O'Reilly-Mead, (Dan), sister-in-law, Jackie O'Reilly, nieces, Courtney O'Reilly, Brittany O'Reilly, Whitney Syaks (Michael), Alyssa Register (Phillip), Emily Harlow (Austin), Aubrionna Mead, and nephew, Austin Trembly. He was "Great Uncle Mike" to many great-nieces and nephews, as well.
