Michael Anthony Oakar

Michael Anthony Oakar, age 40, passed away on December 31, 2025 after a long fought battle with several health conditions including multiple sclerosis and diabetes. His death leaves a profound sense of loss among all those who knew and loved him.
Michael leaves behind his devoted mother, Susan M. Oakar, who adored and loved him beyond measure. He will also be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael is preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Bernard J. Oakar and his cherished grandmother Anna Mae Carey Oakar, as well as many other family members.
Michael was a gentle soul with a kind heart and a deep appreciation for life's beauty. He had a passion for photography. He found a special joy in capturing sunsets and areas of Cleveland, especially Ohio City, where he grew up. Michael was thoughtful, had a calm spirit and was able to see the silver lining in all situations.
Michael will be remembered for his love of cooking and for people. He was compassionate, empathetic, hard working, sincere and always greeted everyone with a gentle smile. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on friends, family and everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Michael's life, though far too short, was meaningful and full of quiet impact.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church 3602 Bridge Avenue on Saturday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. Interment private.
