Michael Joseph Olson, age 62 of Mankato died peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in the comfort of his home after a courageous battle of cancer.
A visitation will be held from 1-3pm with a prayer service at 3pm at Mankato Mortuary (1001 N. Riverfront Drive, Mankato) on Friday, September 15, 2023. A Celebration of life will follow at the Oleander.
Mike was born February 3, 1961, in Mankato to James and Beatrice (Lowe) Olson. He married Tina Constable on April 14, 1979 in Mankato. Mike started his career at Schwickert’s Roofing and then went on to J & R Roofing and ended his career at Reichel Painting.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, “juking” with his brother Joe and cousin Rodney, watching Nascar, the Vikings, and college football. Mike will be remembered for his quick witted humor, his love for outdoors, and his love and dedication for his family.
Mike is survived by his wife, Tina of Mankato; two children, Adonica (Chris) Heminover of Willmar and Mitch (Lindsay) Olson of Mankato; 4 grandchildren, Colby, Alyza, Kylie, and Boston; siblings, Julie (Steve) St. Peter and Joe (Lori); sister-in-law, Deb Olson all of Mankato; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that became family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; brother, John; great-niece, Jocelynn Passon; and father-in-law, Donnie Constable.
