Michael Ornelas Obituary
Memorial services will be at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Michael was born in Portland Oregon on February 12, 1957, to Lillian and Rosendo Ornelas.
Michael was our oldest brother and served in the Marine Corp. He attended Amarillo College and received his certificate as an auto mechanic. Growing up you would always see Mike working on his cars or others. Michael had a big heart (he hid it most of the time) but it was there. He had a love for animals and would take every stray in and love them with everything he had.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rosendo Ornelas; his mother, Lillian Estrada; his sister, Rachel Marie Briones; his brothers, Richard Allen Ornelas, Russell Van Ornelas, and Raymond Paul, Ornelas.
Survivors include his sister, Jennifer L Soto, "Daniel Soto"; nieces, Sarai Canales, Iris Soto, Kristen Ornelas, Ashely Griffin, and Dione Briones; and nephews, Robert Martinez, Xavier Soto, Isaiah Conway, Michael Saiz, Steven Briones, Michael A Candelaria, and Nicholas Ornelas.
