It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the unexpected passing of Michael Alan Ossa of Baton Rouge, LA, on Sunday February 23, at the age of 41.
Michael is survived and greatly missed by mother Cynthia Drago (née Price), siblings and their families Logan Ossa, José & Joan Ossa, Cynthia & Brian Viola, nieces Aliena and Rowen Viola, aunt Stephanie Baugh, uncles Stanley and Shawn Price, as well as his large and loving family in Colombia.
He was preceded in death by his father, José Ignacio Ossa and step-father Johnnie Drago, paternal grandparents Jose Ignacio and Myriam Ossa, and maternal grandparents Stanley and Verna Price.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia on June 17, 1983, Michael perfectly completed the family of 6. From a young age, he brought smiles to all who met him with his quiet nature, humor, and desire to help all around him; traits he kept throughout his life. After moving to Baton Rouge, Michael attended St. Jude Catholic School and Catholic High and worked various jobs where he quickly excelled due to his hard work ethic and easy-going nature. He loved adventure -from zip lining and white water rafting, to exploring virtual worlds in video games- as long as he had friends and family with him. Michael was a doting son, amazing brother, fun uncle, and caring nephew. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church on Highland Road on Friday 28, 2025 from 9:00 a.m until Memorial Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Companion Animal Alliance of Baton Rouge at caabr.org. Michael took great care of his rescue cats.
