Michael Wayne Pankey

Evans, Colorado - Michael (Mike) Wayne Pankey, age 83, of Evans, CO passed away December 14, 2024.
He was born July 24, 1941 in Davenport, Iowa to Wayne and Winifred Pankey. In the 83 years that he lived, he was so many things to so many people. He was a son, a brother, a husband, a dad, a papa and a friend. He retired from Wal-mart Distribution Center, where he worked in security. He enjoyed meeting friends for breakfast and spending time with his family. Mike never met a stranger and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed, and his memory will forever be cherished by family and friends.
In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Michael and his beloved cat Buddy. He is survived by brother Larry, his son Michael (Jenifer) Pankey, his daughter Brigid (Mike) Fry, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, mother or his children, Rita Davis, and special friend of sixty-one years, Jim Pickard.
Family and friends may visit 3-5:00 pm on Thursday, December 19 at Viegut Funeral Home, 1616 North Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, CO 80538. Services will be held December 20th at 9:30am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 915 12th Street, Greeley, CO 80631. Burial to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Highway 56 and Weld County Road 1, Berthoud, CO 80513. Special thanks to the staff at Fair Acres Manor, Homewell Care Services, and Canyon Hospice.
