Michael James Pavin was born on November 11, 1964 in Graceville, Minnesota, the only child, to James and Eleanor (Tracy) Pavin.  Michael was baptized in Browns Valley at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.  He attended schools in the Ortonville school district, graduating from Ortonville High School with the class of 1983.  After graduation, Michael moved to St. Cloud where he attended St. Cloud State, graduating with a degree in accounting.

After graduation, Michael worked at Saputo Cheese, followed by Runnings in Watertown.  Michael was transferred to Oklahoma where he managed Runnings and then was transferred to the Milbank Runnings, where he has been managing for the last 15 years.

Michael loved the outdoors, he liked to hunt, deer but mainly pheasant, golfing, fishing and camping.  He was an avid sports fan; he could tell you anything about the Minnesota Twins.  He also liked watching the Minnesota Vikings and playing in his fantasy football league.

Michael died on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Milbank Area Hospital in Milbank, SD; he had lived to reach the age of 45 years.

Michael is survived by his mother, Eleanor of Ortonville, MN, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and special friend Jean Peterman Hagen of Watertown, SD.

Michael is preceded in death by his father James; his grandparents: George and Sadie Pavin and John and Ann Tracy; and Aunt Jeanette Minahan.
