The first time I met Mike, Tamara was hanging out with some friends and I when he walked into prime time. He stared me down while shaking my hand, the look on his face was, "who the #!@# are you and why are you siting by my sister" I will never forget it. That is how the first few times we were around each other went. Saying he was protective of those he loved was an understatement. It took a while to break through with him especially because I am a Broncos and Notre Dame fan. Though as fans we had a strong dislike for each others teams, we always could find common ground in our sports wagering losses (and once in a while a win). We could always talk about our Fantasy Football Teams, and our college football parlay or how the Colorado Rockies need to be sold. Once I was "in" Mikey, he treated me like a brother either celebrating a holiday or giving me crap about one of my teams even going as far as betting on the same parlay a few times just so we had mutual cheering interest for once (which we did win a few). I will miss him, especially on Broncos Raiders Game Day, or when we are on the lake at Taylor, or at a family gathering for the holidays. We will tell stories, laugh, and celebrate his life.
