Michael Posnansky Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 15, 2026.
Michael Allen Posnansky passed away quietly and peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Sharon; son, Neil (Ronni); son-in-law, David Greene; sister, Carla Springer; brother-in-law, Fred Knight (Leslie); and adored grandchildren, Matthew, Emily (Kevin), Jamie, and Miranda. Preceded in death by beloved daughter, Cheryl Greene; parents, Alice and Jack Posnansky; and in-laws, Sam and Esther Knight. Born and raised in St. Paul, Mike spent the bulk of his career in the manufacturing of automotive seat covers and snowmobile covers. When that business slowed down, he went back to his "roots" purchasing B and B Seat Cover and American Auto Trim. He left the automotive field and went to work at Home Depot which blended his strong people skills and his ability to fix anything. He loved sharing his ideas with customers. He rarely had a handyman at the house. He took pride in his ability to move walls, build cedar closets, and hang wallpaper. Many family memories are of Mike's attempts at doing these chores. An avid fisherman, he loved taking the grandkids on the pontoon to regale them with how to find the best spot, whether they were interested or not. He played golf and loved his weekly outings with friends. Most of all he loved the 60 years-long poker game with the "guys". As his eyesight began to fail, he often said this is what he missed most. Mike was a kind and loving man with an incredible sense of right and wrong. He loved to laugh and make others do the same. He was a bright light to all who knew him. Funeral service 11:00am TUESDAY, February 17th at UNITED HEBREW BROTHERHOOD CEMETERY CHAPEL, 2605 W. 70 1/2 St., Richfield, and available on Zoom at www.hodroffs.com/MichaelPosnansky (link also found below).
