Michael Gus Rakowitz or "Mike" as he was so affectionately known has gone home to the lord on February 26, 2025. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 29, 1958 to parents August and Elizabeth Rakowitz. While growing up, Mike was apart of the East Central FFA and after high school enlisted into the United States Navy serving several years. Anyone who knew Mike knew his love for gardening and sipping an ice cold beer after a long day of work. He is proceeded in death by his youngest son Michael E. Rakowitz, wife Jacque Rakowitz, parents August and Elizabeth Rakowitz, brothers David and Gerald Rakowitz, sister Vivian Maisano, in-laws Jack Neil, Iris Neil, Patsy Neil, and brother in-laws Rodney Neil and Fernando Guajardo, as well as several extended family members. Mike is survived by his daughter Sabrina Espinoza and son in-law Eric, eldest son Chance Lyon, grandchildren Isaiah, Noah, Kennedy, and Elijah, his sister Linda Strunk Kelly and brother in-law Terry, sister in-laws Sharon Rakowitz, Rhonda Schmitz and brother in-law Tom, Rochelle Guajardo, brother in law- Kenneth Neil and sister in-law Tammy, nieces Melany Kosub, Nicole St. Julian, and Brittany Buehring, nephews Brian Kosub, Terry Kelly Jr., Tray Kelly, and Taylor Neil, as well as several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by life long friends Marjorie Steinhofer, David and Sally Regan, and many others. Mike will forever be in our hearts.

I met Mike at the skilled nursing facility he was in and he always made me smile and laugh. He loved doting on his grandsons and tractors and I am blessed to have met him for a short time but his memory will long remain in my heart. Blessings to your family abd friends, Mike.
