Michael Ribeiro Ramos, 37 of Rochelle Park, passed away on January 19, 2025. Born and raised in Lodi, he settled in Rochelle Park four years ago. Michael graduated Johnson and Whales University in 2010 with a degree in criminal justice. Michael started his career in 2013 with the NJDOC. In 2016, Michael started with the Bergen County Sheriff's Department and rose to the rank of detective. In 2023, he graduated to the rank of sergeant. He was a member of the PBA Local 134 and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church in Lodi. Michael was a pillar of the community. Sergeant Michael Ramos is deeply honored and remembered for his bravery, dedication, and the love he poured into everything he did for the community and his family. His courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and his memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Manuel Ramos and Pureza Cortez. Beloved and devoted son of Manuel Cortez Ramos and Rosa (nee Ribeiro) Ramos. Cherished brother of Stephanie Ribeiro Ramos. Loving grandson of Jose and Pureza Riberio. Beloved nephew of Maria Teresa Ribeiro Guerra and her spouse Joe Guerra (Cousins - Samantha and Michelle) Antonio Cortez Ramos and his spouse Lucia (Cousins - Sandra, Manny, Tony). Beloved nephew of Rosa Cortez Ramos and Celeste Cortez Ramos. Beloved nephew of Paulo Cortez Ramos his spouse Ceu Ramos (Cousins - Tatiana and Andreia).
The family invites all who knew him to attend the funeral on Friday, January 24th, at 8:30 am at Di Chiara Funeral Home, 300 Main St., Lodi then to St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church for a 10:00 am Funeral Mass. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Saddle Brook. Visitation Thursday, January 23rd from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
