Michael P. Richards, 49, of Commodore, PA, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 9, 2026, at his home.

He was the son of Dennis J. and Cathy I. (Boyer) Richards Sr., born February 21, 1976, in Indiana, PA.

Michael was a dedicated family man who poured his heart into his loved ones, including Tanya Lynn, his loving wife and Kristin Renee, his beautiful, loving daughter. Michael, A hardworking individual, spent 15 years as a valued employee of Waste Management. Outside of work, he was happiest when he was outdoors-whether he was camping, meticulously tending to his yard, or working on cars, a hobby he truly loved. Michael was also known for his deep affection for his pets, sharing a particularly special bond with his dog, Dexter. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he called home.

He is survived by his parents, his wife of 27 years, Tanya L. (Shaffer) Richards, one daughter, Kristin R. Richards, one sister, Laura R. Bistok and husband Jason, two brothers, Dennis J. Richards Jr. and wife Susan, Stephen D. Richards, and a close friend, Michael R., a sister-in-law, Juanita (Shaffer) Bothell (Jay), one Brother-in-law Charlie Demorest (Kayla), and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews as follows: Joshua Bothell, Jacob Bothell, Cash Demorest, Carter, Demorest, Cody Richards and (Geneva), Logan Richards, Hannah Richards, Eric Bracken, Ethan Bracken, Emmi and Ethan Trout, Coltin Ireland and (Jessica) and Bo Everett Ireland, Great Nephew.

Michael was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Harry and Anna Marie (Blazavich) Boyer, Virgil Harry "Butch" and Frances Irene (Presto) Richards, Charles Demorest Sr. and numerous aunts and uncles.

Friends will be received on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the McCabe~Roof Funeral Home, 565 Franklin St. Clymer PA. Michael's funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm with Pastor Scot and Tammie Pifer, officiating. Interment will be private for the family.
