Michael Roach

Michael A. Roach, 72, of Kirkland died on October 18, 2025. Born on May 5, 1953 in Rockford, IL; son of Howard and Dorothy (Taylor) Roach. United in marriage to Carol Bentz on June 13, 1982 at the United Methodist Church in Kirkland. Michael was a loving husband and father who was active in coaching his children's sports teams, becoming affectionately known as "Coach Roach." In his retirement, he became a mediocre golfer. Survived by his loving children, Shaun (Angela) Roach, Leah Roach; grandsons Daniel, William; brothers, William (Kay) Roach, Leonard (Donna) Roach; brothers-in-law, Dale (Judy) Bentz, Tom Bentz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Carol Roach. Michael's family is grateful to the team at Serenity Hospice for their loving care, especially Shelia and Chaplain Willie. Michael's wishes were to donate his body to science for the advancement of medical research. A celebration of Michael's life will be held at Olson Quiram Kirkland Chapel, 309 South Fifth St. Kirkland, IL, on October 27, 2025.
