Michael Schafer Obituary
He was born on January 27, 1949, in Muscatine, IA to Helen "Gerri" (Benninger) Schafer. Michael worked as a millwright for Millwright Local Union 2158 for over 50 years, and he was a trustee on the 2158 executive board. Michael loved fishing, being outdoors, music, and carpentry. He loved to spend time with his family and was loved by all.
Michael is survived by his children, Melissa and Sarah Schafer (Bill Peifer); grandchildren, Alexandra Conner, Shelby Bills (William), Delaney Recker (Noah), and Chelsea Ammons (Spencer); great-grandchildren Savannah, Isabel, Thomas, Ellie, Quinn, Sylas, Sutton, Luna, Nova, Ayla and Lyra; siblings; Greg Schafer (Teresa) and Steve Schafer (Joyce).
He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jo Schafer (Edleman) and mother, Gerri Schafer (Benninger).
A Memorial Service will be held at a Later date.
