Michael Allan Schmidt passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025. He leaves behind a loving wife of 62 years, Diane. He is also survived by his three sons, Mark (Lesley), David, and Peter (Gayle), along with his granddaughters Eileen, Sarah, Madelynn and Mila. He is further survived by his sisters Carol and June Ellen, as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Anna, his brother Peter, and his sister Barbara.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and friends. And though he and Diane travelled many places around the world, they most enjoyed vacationing in St. Germain, WI, where they brought their family and close friends to a cabin in the woods for over four decades. There they spent time fishing, golfing, boating, and simply enjoying each other's company.
Spending time with his four granddaughters was especially important to Mike. You would often find him and Diane at the numerous basketball and volleyball games, as well as track meets and band concerts the girls participated in.
Mike led a distinguished career at Milwaukee Tool for 38 years. He was also an active supporter of Wauwatosa Special Olympics for many years.
There will be a gathering at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12130 W. Center Street, Wauwatosa, WI 53222 on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 10AM-12PM. A mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12PM.
Memorials appreciated to Special Olympics ~ Wauwatosa or the charity of your choice.
