Michael Schmit Obituary

Published by Laufersweiler's Palmer & Sons Funeral Home Inc on Dec. 25, 2011.
Michael Schmit entered this life on Oct. 25, 1994, in Lake City. He left us much too soon and those left to grieve his passing include his mother, Patty Walters of Rockwell City, and his dad, Tom Schmit of Jefferson, his brothers Adam Schmit of Rockwell City and Brant Schmit of Jefferson; grandparents, Veronica Schmit of Rockwell City, and Tom and Sylvia Walters of Ft. Dodge; His nephews Will and Devin and his nieces, Mercedes and Stephanie lost their favorite, fun-loving uncle. He will be sorely missed by his uncles, aunts, cousins and many, many friends.

Michael had a larger than life personality and his energy saw no bounds. He'd burst into a room and captivate everyone with his knack for telling a story and we always looked forward to his eccentric version of life events. He enriched our lives with his exuberance, sense of humor, and generosity of spirit. To see Michael's eyes light up and his magnanimous smile filled us with joy.

Michael had a heart of gold and kindness that extended to stray animals, those less fortunate and other injustices he saw in the world. He had a passion for politics, shooting the bull with his dad, and causing mischief.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather Emmet Schmit; his uncle Michael Schmit and his uncle Lawrence.
