Michael John Schuh, age 52, of Naperville, Illinois, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 3, 2024. He was born on March 6, 1972, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, to John and Peggy (nee Mannino) Schuh.
Mike was a devoted husband of nearly 28 year to his wife, Laurie (nee Schultz) Schuh, and a proud father to their three children: Mallory, Meghan, and Ryan Schuh. His love for his family was boundless and evident in everything he did. He is also survived by his mother, Peggy Schuh; his sisters, Penny (Tom) Rock and Pam (Ben Batorson) Schuh; his mother-in-law, Linda Schultz; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tracey (Jim Elliott) Schultz and Jim (Kristin) Schultz. His nieces and nephews, Nicole Nelson, Tyler Nelson, Landon Schultz, Josie Schultz, and Grant Schultz, will also dearly miss him. Mike was preceded in death by his father, John Schuh, and his father-in-law, Jim Schultz. Additionally, Mike leaves behind many cherished friends, co-workers and students who were fortunate to know his amazing personality, his warmth, generosity and contagious smile.
In his 29-year career with Indian Prairie School District (IPSD) 204, over one thousand fifth graders experienced Mike's boundless enthusiasm for teaching. In addition to the classroom, his teaching passion extended to both the Chess and Strategy Club as well as the Robotics Club. IPSD enjoyed Mike's energetic (loud) and creative dedication at several elementary schools including Owen, Young, Patterson and Longwood. Years after children had moved on beyond fifth grade, Mike was repeatedly honored by students as their most influential teacher. Many kept in touch over the decades. He also received the A+ award through IPEF.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes & Crematory, 24021 Royal Worlington Drive, Naperville, Illinois. Additional visitation will be on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Mike's name be made to an educational fund being established for Mallory, Meghan, and Ryan.
Mike's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

I was one of his students, in 2022-2023 school year, he was a good teacher. I was a really bad student. I wish him well and may he be in peace

I was one of his students last year, he was loud and funny, probably one of the smartest and funniest teachers I have ever had.

My favorite memory is him running through the desks and ripping his shirt. He also made the best joke about a kid named Jim in my class. He told Jim he liked him a lot but would never name his kid Jim...Jim Schuh. He was my 5th grade teacher 12 years ago. Such an immense loss.
