Michael "Mike" Shaeffer, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 49. Born on December 2, 1975, in Canton, Ohio, Mike brought joy, laughter, and a unique spirit to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mike was known for being the loudest man in the room, effortlessly filling spaces with his easy-going demeanor and infectious happiness. His personality was a beacon of warmth that drew people in and made them feel at ease. His laughter became a soundtrack to many beloved memories.
Mike embraced life with a fervor that was evident in his passions. He was an avid fisherman, often found by the water, lines cast with patience and hope. In his home, he nurtured a variety of plants and gardens that reflected his love for nature. His fondness for aquatic life went beyond gardens; he was known for his love of wet pets and aquariums, where he created vibrant habitats filled with colorful fish.
In addition to his love for the outdoors, Mike was a dedicated gamer, often lost in virtual worlds that sparked his imagination. His loyalty extended to sports as well, as he passionately supported the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes, proudly representing his teams with unwavering faith.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Amy Shaeffer; his daughter, Emily Shaeffer; his loyal dog, Barkley; and an array of fish who contributed to the joyful atmosphere of his home. He is preceded in death by his dear dog, Sadie, who undoubtedly awaits him across the rainbow bridge.
The legacy of Michael Shaeffer will remain in the hearts of his family and friends, who will carry forward the laughter, love, and memories that he so generously shared with all those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.
