Not sure what to say?

I'm so sorry.. I just found out... Mike, I thought was a good Man... He was quiet and didn't say a whole lot most of the time but he treated me with respect, as I did him.. He was alright... I enjoyed talking with him. It had been a long time since I had seen him.. I wish Delaine the best and I hope she finds happiness during this difficult time, as for the family as well... I liked ole Mike.. I am deeply sorry to have found this out... Blessings to the family

Michael's Obituary

MARION, VA

Michael Henry Sharitz, Sr., age 65 of Marion, passed away at his home and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

Mike was born in Alexandria, Virginia, and was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Junior Sharitz and Charlotte Ann Barrett Sharitz; his sister, Brenda Ann Wright; his infant son; and his beloved son, Michael Henry “Chum” Sharitz, Jr. Mike was a kind-hearted, gentle soul with a big heart and an easy smile. He loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, Delaine, whether they were working on projects around the farm, sitting together on the front or back porch watching the deer graze, or simply enjoying the quiet company of their faithful dog, Scruffy. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved going deer hunting. One of their favorite traditions was visiting Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tennessee, for anniversaries or spontaneous getaways to a cozy cabin in the Smoky Mountains.

Family meant everything to Mike. Over the years, he and his loved ones shared countless hours making ceramics together, a hobby that left behind treasured pieces and even more treasured memories. Mike had a wonderful sense of humor and a knack for storytelling. He loved to joke with those he cared about and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. His warmth, laughter, and friendly spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

Survivors include, his wife of 14 years and together for 16, Delaine Peak Sharitz of Marion; two children Laura Harper and Daniel Tavik; step-daughter Chasidy Deskins & Justin of Alexandria, VA; three nieces Brenda Lee Sharitz-Pence & husband Joe of King George, VA, Patty Nalley & husband Randy of Fredericksburg, VA, and Maggie Peak of Marion; brother-in-law Charles Peak & Carly of Marion; grandson, Tylee Antone of Marion; several other grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and a host of other extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Monday, May 19, 2025, from the Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Rev. Harry Howe & Pastor Herman Cress officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00PM, on Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
