Michael Shreve Obituary
He was born April 17, 1951 in Petersburg, WV and was the son of the late Benjamin Ottis Shreve and Clement Kimble Shreve.
He was a 1969 graduate of Franklin High School. He loved cutting pulpwood and installed many standing seam metal roofs. He enjoyed working alone, but when he did work with someone else, it took twice as long to complete the job because he liked to talk. He retired from Potomac Highlands Regional Jail. Michael had a passion for animals, especially chickens, rabbits and cats. Mike enjoyed shearing sheep. He loved to sing and play his guitar and played in a band in many bars.
He is survived by –
A daughter – Katlyn Brown of Bunker Hill, WV
One brother – Benjamin "Ben" Shreve, Jr. (Barbara) of Upper Tract, WV
Two sisters – Wanda Hedrick of Upper Tract and Joyce Calhoun (Bob) of Culpeper, VA
A sister-in-law – Veronica Shreve of Delaware
Seven nephews – Bill, Matthew and Benji Hedrick, Jason, Robert and Christopher Calhoun and Jimmy Shreve
Four nieces – Jennifer Wiemeyer, Kimberly, Melissa and Carrie Shreve
And a grandson who is due to arrive in April.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were one brother, James "Jim" Shreve, a brother-in-law, David Hedrick, and two nephews, Adam Calhoun and Charles Hedrick.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 27 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. Rita Beeman officiating.
