Michael (Mike) Stephen Sickle of Palm Bay, FL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 7, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Mike was born March 19,1959 in Fairmont, WV, the son of the late Thomas H. Sickle and Mary Lou (Starkey) Sickle. He was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Lynn (Sickle) Murphy, mother-in-law, JoAnn (Arcure) Blankenship, sister-in-law, Donna (Blankenship) Davis, and nephew Jason Garrison.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Mary Ann (Blankenship) Sickle, two sons Brent and Chet Sickle, one brother, Thomas L. (Linda) Sickle, father-in-law, Ron Blankenship, brothers in-law, Jimmy Blankenship and Zeke Davis, Sisters in-law, Susie (Pete) Garrison, Julie (Paul) Hayhurst, Sherry (Patrick) O'Mara and many nieces, nephews, cousins and his sweet little companion, Ruby Tuesday.
Mike's two sons were his pride and joy. He was so proud of the men they have become.
Mike moved to Southern CA with his family when he was 6 years old. He moved back to Fairmont, WV, when he was 17 and met the love of his life while working at Bonanza Steak House. They became best friends before they started dating and were married December 12, 1980.
Mike then started working for Kisner & Son's Roofing Company. He had a fear of heights, so he did not work there long. He then worked for a block and brick layer. He later was employed at Westinghouse making fluorescent light bulbs. In 1982 he was laid off at Westinghouse and worked at Federal No. 2 coal mine until he was laid off in 1984. Mike and his wife moved to Merritt Island, Florida, in February 1985.
He worked for Hickerson Cable installing television cable.
Mike was a true entrepreneur. He started a lawn service, The Lawn Ranger. He also had a WV hot dog and ice cream shop in Cocoa Beach, Florida. After selling the hot dog and ice cream shop they moved to Orlando where he worked as a field supervisor of underground cable installation for FCC Cable.
In April of 1988 he was offered to return to work at the coal mine. He made the decision to move his family back to WV for the excellent benefits it would provide them, only to be laid off again in 1991.
Mike packed up his family and moved to Melbourne, Florida, where he and his parents purchased a restaurant and bar (Shuckers Oyster Boat & Kokomo Lounge). In June of 1994, he packed up his family again and moved to Key Largo, Florida, where he opened a wave runner rental and gift shop called Ski Largo.
The family moved back to Melbourne in 1996 and Mike met his business partner, Mike Moran. Together they started M&M Carpet and Tile which is still a thriving business. Mike will be deeply missed by all of his M&M Family.
Mike was exceptionally talented at remodeling. He had a great vision for taking an old run-down house and creating a beautiful home. He flipped a few houses when the economy was bad to make extra money for his family. Mike was not afraid to tackle any job, from plumbing, electrical, framing, installing cabinetry, drywall patching and any kind of floor installation. He also was very mechanical and could fix just about anything.
Mike enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating and camping. He had such a great and witty sense of humor and was so full of character. His loud, contagious laugh will truly be missed. Mike was always the life of the party.
Please check back for updates as there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

I met Mike 2 days after he moved back to WV. Me and buddies were hanging out at 5th street park playing poker lol. After that you couldn´t pull us apart for about 5 years. We went our separate ways but remained friends always. Miss you old friend!!!
