Michael Sievers Obituary

Michael Allen Sievers, 61

Michael Allen Sievers, born on November 13, 1963, in Moses Lake, Washington, passed away on May 9, 2025, in Virginia Beach, VA at the age of 61. He was a beloved father, son, uncle and brother, known for his adventurous spirit, social nature, and unwavering focus on seeking happiness. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Michael grew up in Moses Lake and spent much of his life there, where he developed strong connections with the community. Throughout his life, Michael was happiest when spending time on the water, whether it was exploring the shores of Moses Lake or sailing on his boat in his later years. His adventurous nature and zest for life were contagious, and he inspired those around him to embrace the beauty of nature and pursue their passions.

Michael was known for his fun-loving personality and for never meeting a stranger. He had an innate ability to connect with others, and his social energy left a lasting impression wherever he went. Always focused on finding joy and spreading happiness, Michael's positive outlook on life will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

While he worked many jobs throughout his life, Michael never allowed work to consume him. His true priority was living out his dreams, and his approach to life may have looked unconventional to some. To Michael, balance was found in pursuing what truly brought him joy-whether that meant following an adventurous path or embracing moments of simple pleasure. His unique approach to life reminded those around him of the importance of prioritizing happiness and staying true to one's heart.

Michael is survived by his son, Gared Sievers; his daughter, Kayla (Derick) Jones; his former wife and mother to his children, Michelle Sievers; his mother, Edda Sievers; his love, Rita Devlin; his sister, Marnie (Tim) Bodine; his nephews, Jacob (Brooke) Vandenberg, Karsten Vandenberg; and his niece, Shelby (Drew) Bodine and many other family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerd Sievers.

A memorial service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers the family would be honored to have donations made to Wounded Warrior Outdoors in Mike's memory. Donations may be made by going to www.tmcfunding.com.
