Michael Sigman Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 10, 2024.
Micheal Steven Sigman Sr., born on June 1, 1949, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, passed away peacefully
on June 8, 2024, at the age of 75. Micheal, affectionately known as Mike, was a beloved
husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose life was marked by deep faith,
strong family values, and a generous spirit.
A graduate of Danville High School, Mike spent his life dedicated to his family and community.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Kay (Hess) Sigman; his three sons, Michael S.
Sigman Jr. (Jennifer), Jason D. Sigman, and Matthew T. Sigman; his three grandchildren; and
his two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters, Debbie (Sigman) Straight and
Carol (Sigman) Martin, and his brother, Danny Sigman (Janet).
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James Russell Sigman and Gladys Marie (Stiteler)
Sigman both of Danville, Ohio.
Mike's hobbies included fishing, trap shooting, mowing his yard, and mushroom hunting. He
enjoyed Sunday drives to grab a milkshake and travel the backcountry roads, taking in the
sights. His favorite vacation spot was the Smoky Mountains, where he loved camping and the
great outdoors. Mike cherished spending his days celebrating his family, sitting on the porch
swing with his wife, and watching old TV shows and westerns.
Mike took pride in his children and grandchildren, often sharing stories about them. He will be
remembered for his generous heart, a radiant smile, a great sense of humor, and was always
willing to help others without hesitation. Mike's career included working at Kelsey Hayes of Mt.
Vernon and owner/operator of Sigman and Sons Excavating. Though he did not have a regular
place of worship, his faith in Jesus Christ was deep-rooted, and he lived his life celebrating his
beliefs daily, cherishing his nightly prayers with the love of his life and spreading the word to
others. His favorite Bible verse was John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
The family has requested that there will be no memorial services at this time.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the future and time will be set by the family.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Danville, Eastern Knox County Fire Department.
Mike's legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved
