Michael Sorvillo

Carmen Michael Sorvillo (known to everyone as Mike), 87, of East Setauket, New York, passed away peacefully on December 19th. A Long Island resident, he was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and a pillar of his community.

Mike was the beloved husband of his late wife, Helen, with whom he shared 62 years of love and partnership. He was a proud and dedicated father to his daughters, Lisa (and her husband Ruben) and Laura, and a deeply adored Pop Pop to his grandchildren, Chris (and his wife Caitlyn), Taylor and Michael, who brought him immense joy and pride. He moved to Setauket in 1963 and became a charter member of the Setauket Fire Department in 1964, proudly serving his community for 58 years. Mike devoted himself to serving others, a value that carried through every part of his life. He also spent 40 years working at Ridgewood Savings Bank, where he was known not only for his strong work ethic and loyalty, but for his sharp wit, warmth and unforgettable personality. To colleagues and customers alike, Mike was more than an employee - he was a constant, trusted presence and a friend. Mike was widely respected as a pillar of the Setauket community, always willing to lend a hand, share a laugh or offer support. His kindness, humor and dedication left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for his generosity of spirit, his sense of humor and his unwavering love for his family. Mike's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family who loved him dearly. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
