Mike, 63 of Fall Branch, passed away on February 25, 2024. He was the first son of John Spivey and Nina Spencer. Mike attended Central High School and retired from TEC-Eastman. He was a farmer (born and bred) and horse enthusiast (horse and buggy). Mike was a University of Tennessee fan and threw a wicked game of cornhole. He was a devoted husband and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, John Spivey; sister, Karen Roberts; grandparents, Conley and Polly Spivey, Homer and Molly Dockery.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Carla; mother, Nina Spencer (Bill); sister, Janice Stanley (Jackie); brother, Allan Spivey (Renee); nephews, Brian Stanley (Tara), Blaine Dotson, Tucker Farmer; niece, Kelli Price (Shannon), Halie Roberts, Makenzie and Kyndel Price; mother-in-law, Gail Powell; brother-in-law, Kendal Powell; several other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 4:30-6:30pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. A memorial service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at 6:30pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Hubbard officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriners Children’s Greenville, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605.
Mike’s life was well lived and spent doing what he loved. His generous and loving soul will be missed by all who have known him. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
