Michael Carl Stevenson

Mr. Michael Carl Stevenson passed peacefully on February 3, 2026, in the evening at Fellowship Hillside.

Mike was born on August 9, 1948, in Dallas, Texas to Morris and Louise Stevenson. The family later moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Mike graduated from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He remained an avid "Sooner" football fan throughout his life.

After college, he served his country in the United States Army Reserves at Fort Sill and Fort Knox.

His business career began with Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. In 1974, Mike moved to Kentucky with Ingersoll-Rand. It was in Paducah that he met Cecilia Cunningham. They were married on July 31, 1978, in Bermuda.

After being transferred to Connecticut in 1983, a desire to move closer to family led him to LaGrange in 1987, where he joined Interface. In 1994, he founded his own business in the Industrial Park, purchasing an Adecco franchise servicing LaGrange, Columbus, and Auburn. He retired in 2017.

Mike was a dedicated member of LaGrange Rotary for 25 years and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a devout Christian and long-time member of First United Methodist Church and the Builders Sunday School class. He valued service, community, and faith, and he lived those commitments quietly and consistently.

A true outdoorsman, Mike enjoyed canoeing the Flint River and fly fishing with his son, Alan, in the North Georgia Mountains. He participated in BMW autocross racing and ISPA shooting for several years and also loved playing guitar. He took great pride in watching his son compete on the LaGrange High School tennis team and never missed a match.

In his later years, golf became a favorite pastime. He cherished time spent playing with friends and the senior group at Highland Country Club.

In 2022, one of his greatest joys was becoming a grandfather to Liam Reid Stevenson.

Above all, Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose steady presence and quiet strength shaped the lives around him.

Mike is survived by his wife, Cecilia, of 48 years; one son, Alan, and wife Cara, and grandson Liam of Peachtree City, Georgia; a sister, Pam Jasin; a niece, Jennifer Owens (David); and a nephew, Chris Money (Candace), all of Dallas, Texas.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange with Rev. Dr. G. Thomas Martin officiating. A reception will follow the service.
